18 Months Old!

Anderson recently hit the 18-month milestone. This is a picture of Anderson with Mike's glasses on. I can not believe that he is already 18-months old. Time has just flown by too quickly! He had his 18-month check up, and he is doing great. He is 35 inches tall (97th percentile) and 27 pounds, 12 ounces (72nd percentile). Healthy and very happy boy!

We have had a pretty busy month. We took a trip (just a long weekend) to the Lost Pines resort. It was fabulous! Think of the resort from Dirty Dancing...tons of activities and lots of families. Anderson spent most of his time in the pool (one of the many, many pools). It was great. Here are some pictures.

It has been a long time!

It has been ages since I have posted on Anderson's blog, but I can assure you it is not because we have not been doing anything...we have been swamped! Here are some of the highlights from the last 3.5 months:
  • In April we made a trip out to San Jose to visit Katt, Brett and Oakley. We had such a great time. It is so much fun to see Oakley and Anderson interacting and having a great time. There was a lot of "monkey see monkey do." Here are some pictures from our trip.
  • Since it has been such a warm summer, we have been spending lots of time outside and lots of time in the water. Anderson seems to really like the water. Hopefully, we will get him started on swim lessons soon...we have totally dropped the ball.
  • Anderson is babbling and talking up a storm these days. We hear a number of words alot. Here are his most popular words: mom, dad, book, ball, dog, banana, more, choo-choo, woof woof, and lots of yes and even more "no's." Here is a video from about 2 months ago when Anderson first started saying banana-it's usually more of a "nana." Now he says it all the time and on his own and usually without as much encouragement from Mike.
  • In June, Mike and I went to Corpus for Holly & Jason's wedding and left Anderson behind in Houston. Mike's sister Kate and his mom, Donna, came in town to watch Anderson while we were away. Kate and Heidi stayed in town a few days after we came back. We got to hang out and have fun with them. We went to the Children's Museum, had a picnic at the park and hung out. It was lots of fun!
  • We headed up to Indiana in early July to visit Mike's parents and Kate, Gene and Heidi. We had a great trip once we made it to Warsaw. The trip there was less than fun, but it was well worth the trip. Anderson enjoyed the lake and really had a great time getting to see Grandpa Mike and Grandma Sandy. Here is a picture of Anderson driving the boat.
So we've been busy! It's not a good excuse for not updating this more often, but my new resolution is to be better about updating Anderson's blog. My goal is to update at least weekly...we'll see how long that lasts!

Monkey Fun!

On Friday we took Anderson to Monkey Bizness.  This is a fun place in Houston that is essentially a huge space with a bunch of inflatable bounce houses and slides.  It is a lot of fun, but it was insane!  There were a bunch of kids there on Friday and a lot of them were much bigger than Anderson, which made me really nervous.  Anderson had an awesome time and really loved the slides.  One slide is about 20 feet high, and I swear kids were just flying down.  I went down with Anderson, and it was awesome!

Here is a video of us on the big slide.  It is not a really clear video, but Anderson's face at the end says it all.  He loved it.

Anderson's Big Ride

For Anderson's birthday he got the coolest car in the world.  It is a Radio Flyer car that has a handle for us to push him in, and it has just about every bell and whistle in the world.  It is awesome, and Anderson loves it.  He is always getting in and out of it, pushing it around and requesting that we push him around in it.  Here is clip of him cruising around.  He will be driving before we know it.

Fun in the Sun

The weather here has been awesome lately.  We have taken full advantage of the great weather and have spent a ton of time outside and have fully gotten the return on our sandbox investment.

Here are some pictures of Anderson having fun in the back yard.

Happy Easter!

Easter was a lot of fun this year!  While this is Anderson's second Easter (he was exactly one week old last Easter), he was much more excited and much more aware of everything this time.  He did not really get the concept of finding the eggs and putting them in the basket, but he definitely loved rocking out with his eggs!  Here is the video clip:

Happy Birthday Anderson!

It has been a week long birthday celebration for Anderson's birthday that culminated with a party yesterday.  It was a great time!  Here are some of the highlights of the week...

Anderson's rockin' airplane!  Grandpa Mike and Grandma Sandy gave Anderson this great airplane rocker that sings and makes all kinds of awesome noises.  Anderson loves the noises and rocking on it.  However, he has not quite mastered the dismount.

Anderson's new sand box! Whenever we go to the park or Lupe Tortilla, Anderson gravitates to the sand box.  He just loves it and apparently loves the taste of sand too! For his birthday, we got him a little sandbox and picnic table.  He has really enjoyed it so far, and it was a huge hit for his birthday party guests.

Anderson's new ride!  Anderson got a Radio Flyer car from the Staples, Uncle Bubs, and Honey and Pop.  It is awesome!  It is all decked out with a radio, turn signals, the works!  Anderson looks awersome in it cruising around Huntwick.  He loves riding in it, but he really loves just pushing it around.
